About Us
International Nepali Literary Society, Germany (INLS Germany)
The International Nepali Literary Society, Germany — INLS Germany for short — is a shared home for everyone who loves the Nepali language and literature in Germany.
How we began
Even far from the foothills of the Himalayas, the wish to keep our mother tongue, literature and culture alive is what brought us together. It was in this spirit that our society was founded — to promote the Nepali language and literature, to unite literary hearts scattered across Germany, and to connect the younger generation with their own language.
Our objectives
- Preserve and promote the Nepali language, literature, art and culture.
- Build a bridge of translation and exchange between Nepali and German literature.
- Discover and encourage new writers and emerging talent.
- Inspire an interest in Nepali language and literature among children and young people.
- Organise literary seminars, workshops, readings and conferences.
- Foster integration into German society through literature.
Our journey — together with you
Literature is far more than a collection of words — it is our identity, our shared memory, and a precious heritage for generations to come. We warmly invite you to join us on this journey: helping Nepali literature blossom on German soil and building a bridge of dialogue between both cultures.
INLS Germany operates in close association with the central family of the International Nepali Literary Society.
